This project was for repairing the exterior and interior of Building 967, also known as “The Tides”; a membership-based social club for enlisted personnel and Officers, due to damage from Hurricane Dorian.
Work included all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to do the following: repair damaged/spalled concrete/stucco building components, window sills, including overhangs and columns, and concrete sidewalks, demolish abandoned conduit, and wall mounted brackets and replace corroded conduit clips, remove/reinstall building signage, perform Hazardous Material/Lead sampling on paint, remove/replace caulk at window frames and doors and replace expansion joint sealant, prepare/paint building exterior surfaces (including exterior walls, man doors, wall mounted equipment, door and window frames, entrance steps/area, and bollards) and remove/reinstall items as necessary to paint building and replace/prepare/paint rotten wood as needed. On the interior we performed repairs to windows and drywall.
The building was occupied the entire time and we needed to phase our exterior construction to allow for certain entrance/exit to the building as the project progressed. Additional phasing was required during the spalling repair so that cure times were managed across the entire building.
