Overview

Specific Work Details

Replaced 37 windows and 4 doors at Bldg 507 with blast resistant windows and doors to match the existing historical windows and doors. Work included erecting OSHA approved scaffolding for the 2- story building and containment to perform hazardous material testing and abatement for lead and asbestos. This involved covering the inside of the window openings, scraping loose any flaking paint, and stabilizing the area with a peel bond primer. The paint chips and trim were bagged and disposed of as hazardous RCRA waste.

When removing old windows we salvaged the existing trims as much as possible due to the historic nature of the building. When we did have to install new trim to square up the opening for installation, we took care to match the existing historical nature of the facility. We primed and painted all the news doors, windows and trim to match the existing building.
